Winners of NFSDC’s Wonders of the Ancient World Promo Announced

Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center (NFSDC), the country’s premiere science and technology museum, is all to set to send the winners of the Wonders of the Ancient World Promo on a grand trip to Egypt.

Grand prize winner Yvette Sarmiento won a trip for two to Egypt to see the pyramids of Giza . The petite mother of four says that winning the contest was surreal. “I didn’t expect I’d win,” shares Sarmiento. “All my family and I did was enjoy ourselves at the DigiStar Planetarium. What a wonderful blessing and a big surprise! We can’t wait to see the Pyramids!”

NFSDC recently screened “Seven Wonders”, a planetarium film that takes viewers to enthralling walkthroughs of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, among which are the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon , and the Pyramids of Giza.  The Great Pyramids is the only ancient wonder that still exists today.

The grand prize includes a round trip ticket, a full day tour of the Egyptian Museum , the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx as well as accommodations for a three day, two night stay in Cairo , Egypt . A Canon Powershot G11 camera was also included in the prize. “I’m really excited,” says Sarmiento. “I’m looking forward to exploring Cairo and seeing the pyramids.”

Other prizes at stake were a SmartBro Surf TV Kits, Smart Blackberry Curve Phone Kits, and Canon Pixma printers.

Solve History’s Greatest Mysteries with Olly Steeds at the Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center

The recently cemented dynamic partnership between Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center (NFSDC), the country’s foremost science and technology-based theme park and media giant Discovery Channel is bringing the world’s best scientists and explorers to town. Leading the plethora of great minds visiting Manila is the history buff and acclaimed journalist Olly Steeds.

Olly Steeds is Discovery Channel’s new face of adventure. This June, Olly Steeds sets out to uncover the truth behind the world’s greatest mysteries in the brand spanking series; Solving History with Olly Steeds.
