Ride, run, row and protect nature.
Runners, mountain bikers, marathoners, cyclists, duathlon athletes, first time competitors and everybody else are invited to head to Pusod Taal Lake Conservation Center (Pusod TLCC) for the Batangas Earth and Water Festival (BEWF) 2015.
It will be a festival of earth and water. Earth will be represented by a 3K-20K-5K run and bike relay. The Water element will come in the form of a kayak clinic and non-competitive kayaking activity.
The venue, Pusod TLCC, only an hour away from Manila, provides both the perfect backdrop and apt terrain for these activities. Participants for the duathlon will traverse the challenging and rigorous trail of steep slopes that starts at Pusod TLCC and will go through the scenic roads of the municipalities of Mataasnakahoy and Balete. Kayaking participants will paddle at the expansive space of Taal Lake, with the calming view of the volcano island.
Pusod TLCC is a partnership between Pusod, Inc and the Municipality of Mataasnakahoy, which serves as a knowlege center for Taal Volcano Protected Land. It has training and resource center intended to support the implementation of the Taal Volcano Protected Areas Management Plan. The venue has already been catching the attention of weekend revellers and groups looking for worthwhile educational and fun activities.
BEWF is a Bisita Batangas 2015 event, produced by Lima Park Hotel (located in Malvar-Lipa) and supported by First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH), in cooperation with the local government offices of Mataasnakahoy and Balete. Registration is 1,000 pesos for solo participants and 1,300 pesos for teams.
